Portrait Assignment
For this assignment, I took a picture of my girlfriend. I thought that the image when taken as a portrait would have been good because I personally believe that it fits all the ideas that the portrait assignment held. This photo is composed of a single image.
For this assignment, the students were required to capture a good portrait image. The should know to use things like leading lines, clear contrast, and the new things from the portrait assignment to make the subject of the photo stand out and to let the viewer understand the objective of the photo with just a quick glance over at the photo.
What I was trying to do was to capture an image of my girlfriend because I thought that this specific picture told a small story and a little about herself.
For this project, I was trying my best to utilize color correction and white balance. It was something that I believed would make professional image at the time.
The focal point of this image would be the subject of the scene, where my girlfriend stands.
The focal point of this image is the center of the image.
I felt that I have achieved what I wanted to achieve for this project, to get the viewer's eyes to focus on the focal point by using some leading lines, curves, and contrast.
The problems that I am seeing in this image would most likely be the unprofessional way I captured the image angle. How I could have solved this problem would have been to take multiple photos of the same thing while snapping at different angles.
For this project, I used the post-processing Photoshop color correction and white balance. I believe that taking more time and taking multiple shots could have made a better image.
