Hyper-Realism

Hyper Realism Project
This project is composed of multiple images to make something that does not seem possible look real.

During this assignment, I took many pictures of different types of scenery and then took a picture of a small action figure I had laying around. I believed that this photo would be appropriate to simulate the requirements for the hyper realism assignment and the current resources that I had. This photo is composed of many separate images.

For this assignment, the students were required to create a surreal image. At this point, we should know to use things like leading lines, clear contrast, and other things to make to subject of the photo stand out to let the viewer understand the objective of the photo with just a quick glance over at the photo.

What I was trying to do was to capture the scene of something small being scaled up to be bigger than something that is already big (5 stories or so).

For this project, I was trying my best to utilize layer masks, parenting, color balancing, color correction, and the smooth transitions between photos. It was something that I learned to do and thought I should apply. It would be these methods shown below that made the image have the impression that it did.

The focal point of this image would be the mid ground of the scene, where the two water boilers and the figure is.

The focal point of this image is the center of the image, where everything is captured.

I felt that I have achieved what I wanted to achieve for this project, to get the viewer's eyes to focus on the focal point by using colors. In this scene, everything is green, and then these high contrast colors stand out, capturing the viewers eyes.

The problems that I am seeing in this image would most likely be the lack of potential creativity. How I could have solved this problem would have been easy, all I had to do was open up and let the creativity flow in instead of having a narrow mindset.

For this project, I used the post-processing Photoshop layer masks on multiple images. I believe that taking more time and defining the layer masks could have made the image look more realistic.
